raising four kids on the corporate cow ranch that's always been my home
PV 9/13/21
Yesterday: the last gymkhana of the season, during which all 4 kids competed in barrel racing, pole bending, flag race, and keyhole race. (Except Muggins lost interest and scratched the last two events.) After the horses were put away at the end of the event, the kids — under the watchful eyes of the dads — got to ride bum calves out of the trusty old bucking chutes at the Custer Arena! Blue skies, good horses, buckets full of prize loot, and a chance to quench that rough stock curiosity that most of these kids seem to have. It was a day fit for queens and kings.
