So the other day 5-year-old Emi asks me if “they” make any cows that are red. You know, Mama, really red.
“Well, Red Angus,” I replied. “Like Rose. She’s Red Angus.”
(Rose is our red bum calf.)
“Rose isn’t red,” Emi replied. “She’s orange.”
“I guess she’s about as red as cows get then,” I said.
Emi thought for a while. Then she decided:
“Mama, I think they shouldn’t be allowed to call them Red Angus. I think it should be Orange Angus.”
I told her we can look into it when she’s a little older.
